CBS, 9/27/05 - They have revolutionized the way we listen to music, but now people are listening to a lot more than music on their iPods and other .mp3 players. Adult-oriented podcasts are exploding in popularity. These dirty downloads are free and they're available all over the Internet. Many parents are stunned to learn how easy it is to get porn on your “Pod.”

From rock to hip-hop, top 40 to jazz, you name it you can download it. Millions turn to Apple's iTunes for music, but now iTunes is singing a new tune. In June, it launched a variety of podcasts and what you hear may shock you.

It's not just iTunes, we found so called "porncasts" on websites like PodNova, PodcastPickle and PodcastDirectory with racy titles like "Fetish Flame" and "Gay Sexcapades.”

Since podcasts are transmitted over the Internet, they're exempt from indecency rules governed by the Federal Communications Commission.

“The Supreme Court held sexually explicit material on the Internet cannot be regulated by government,” Northwestern Law School professor Jim Speta said.

But there's concern these steamy broadcasts could get into the hands of children.

The mother of 11 year-old Jessica Trivizas was stunned to hear what we found.

“Wow,” she said. “I don't even know what to say... it's just disgusting."

"I didn't understand half of it,” 11-year-old Jessica said.

Trivizas downloads all of her daughter’s music, but not all parents do. Right now, only warnings labels are listed to keep kids away

“It's the most that can be done under the law,” Speta said. “Whether that's enough depends on how vigilant parents are at watching the computer.”

iTunes does have parental controls to keep children away from explicit material.

PodcastDirectory.com has more than two dozen sex podcasters on its website. They tell us five of their top ten most popular podcasts are sex related.
