Leigh ran away from home at age 14. At age 18, she was working as a stripper at the Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theatre in San Francisco. She had a clean, innocent look to her, which added to her appeal to fans. Her first porn movie was in 1987 called Secrets Behind the Green Door. The porn world was shocked when her body was discovered on June 16, 1990 of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. She left behind a note discussing personal problems.
