O'Dell grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The former pornographic actor Ken Starbuck spotted O'Dell dancing at a bachelor party when she was 18. Starbuck helped her get into the adult industry by encouraging her to do adult magazine layouts. She soon ventured into porn movies doing mostly lesbian scenes with her friend Nikki Dial. Her first adult feature was Ed Powers' Dirty Debutantes #14 in 1992; she stated she was only 18 at the time. Unlike many other actresses during the 1990s, O'Dell usually used condoms during intercourse scenes. She also appeared as a model in a few bondage videos during the mid-90s.
