Georgina Spelvin was born Dorothy May on January 3, 1936. She suffered from polio as a
child, but recovered well enough to become a dancer. She began her career in
"legitimate" film, as a chorus girl in Guys and Dolls. Her friend,
porn actor Harry Reems, introduced her to porn movie director Gerard Damiano. Her stage name was a variation on George Spelvin, a name
traditionally used as a pseudonym by stage actors. She is also known as Tia von Davis, Ruth Raymond, Ona Tural and Claudia ClitorisHer first film was Teachers and Cream in 1970, but she became well-known with her
starring role in The Devil in Miss Jones in 1973. Georgina made over 70
porn movies before retiring from porn in 1982.
Spelvin published her autobiography, The Devil Made Me Do It, in May 2008
