Debi grew up in the San Fernando Valley outside of Los Angeles. After graduating from high school, she met Hollywood producer Robert Evans and worked for a time as his personal assistant. Evans, in turn, introduced her to photographer Helmut Newton, who featured her in a number of his volumes of photography in the 80's. Debi made her first porn movie in 1980. In the early '90s Diamond worked nonstop and won many awards, including AVN's Female Performer of the Year.

Debi has three children.
