She is one of the most famous erotic actresses in the adult film world because of her 1978
film Debbie Does Dallas. She also performed in two sequels to the hugely successful movie,
and in another film called Swedish Erotica 12 in 1981. However, the dark side of the
industry got the best of her and she became involved with illegal drugs. She is believed
to have died in 1986 from an overdose.
In an anti-porn article for The Melbourne Herald Sun, Kerrie Allen quotes Debbie as saying "The only reason I went in the first place was because I needed the money." Her exact name is unknown, as is her eventual fate. In 2005 British Television's Channel 4 attempted to track down the real Bambi Woods. In the documentary entitled The Dark Side of Porn: Debbie Does Dallas Uncovered, her real name was suggested as Barbara Woodson, though the private investigator in the documentary was unable find anyone with that name, or even to verify that anyone of this name had died in 1986.
