Azumi Kawashima was born on August 8, 1979 in Tokyo, Japan. She is a Japanese idol and
arguably the most well-known star of Japanese porn movies. Starring in her first adult
video (AV) at the tender age of seventeen, Kawashima rapidly rose in under two years to
become the highest paid star of AV of the late ’90s.
During her career, Kawashima posed in hundreds of nudes and non-nudes for various Japanese adult magazines such as URECCO and Beppin School. Popular in Japan, she also became a favourite both in Japan and in the West for her innocent demeanour and large breasts. In 1999, Azumi reached the apogee of her success, being ranked top porn star by the Japanese pornography industry.
